THE COOKIE BAR

The Cookie Bar: Text

The Cookie Bar coffee shop launched in 2011 as a social enterprise allowing young students with disabilities to experience all aspects of running a business and to help them in their journey to become social and economic contributors. The Cookie Bar is part of the COINS Foundation whose vision is for positive social change, and we are part of a much wider group of social projects supported by COINS Foundation.

Social enterprise is our business as usual – we’re interested in creating change and influencing people to think differently. We have a long-term focus on societal change: using our profits to look out for the least fortunate in society.

We are not looking to provide a solution to all of today’s social problems, but to change the way that people think about some of society’s bigger issues by getting a trend in the right direction to create a fairer society. Profits re-invested benefit the people and communities they serve, as well as communities of the world that is our home.

Our homemade cookies and cakes are delicious, but with a BIG difference ...

When you visit our coffee shop you may well be served by one of our talented students and with every coffee you drink or cookie you eat you are supporting them in their journey.

At our coffee shop in Hindhead, we serve coffee roasted in the Surrey Hills and finely brewed teas, cold drinks, shakes and home-baked cookies.  We offer a menu of breakfast, light lunch and tea time bites to eat in or take away.
